What is E-E-A-T, and why Google cares
E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness — the qualities Google's guidelines use to judge content quality, especially for topics that affect people's money or wellbeing. It's less a ranking 'dial' than a description of what good, trustworthy content looks like.
The four parts
- Experience — first-hand knowledge of the topic.
- Expertise — genuine skill and depth.
- Authoritativeness — being recognized as a go-to source.
- Trustworthiness — accuracy, honesty, and transparency.
How to strengthen it
Show who you are, demonstrate real knowledge, be accurate and honest, earn genuine reviews and mentions, and make your business easy to verify. E-E-A-T isn't a trick — it's simply being a credible business that deserves to be trusted.
