Sticky headers: helpful or annoying?
A sticky header stays fixed at the top of the screen as visitors scroll, keeping navigation and your main action always within reach. Used well it's convenient; done poorly it eats screen space and annoys.
When sticky headers help
- On long pages, so navigation is always accessible.
- To keep a key action (call, book) one tap away.
- When kept slim so it doesn't dominate the screen.
When they hurt
A tall sticky header on a small mobile screen wastes precious space. Keep it compact — or shrink it as people scroll — so it stays helpful without getting in the way.
