Stock photos vs. real photos on your website

Photos shape how real and trustworthy your business feels. Authentic photos of your actual work, team, and premises almost always outperform generic stock imagery — but stock still has its place.

Use real photos for the things that matter

  • Your actual work (before/after, projects, products).
  • Your team and premises.
  • Anything a customer will compare to reality.

Where stock is fine

Backgrounds, abstract concepts, or supporting visuals can use quality stock. Just avoid the clichéd, obviously-fake handshake-and-headset shots — they signal 'generic' and quietly erode trust. When in doubt, real wins.
