What makes a call to action actually work
A call to action (CTA) is the moment you ask a visitor to do something — call, book, buy, get a quote. Small changes to your CTAs can meaningfully change how many visitors become customers.
What good CTAs share
- Clear, specific wording ('Get a free quote', not 'Submit').
- One primary action per page — don't split attention.
- Visible and repeated as the page gets long.
- Low friction — the next step feels easy and safe.
Reduce the risk
Pair the CTA with reassurance — 'no obligation', 'we reply within a day', a guarantee. Lowering the perceived risk of clicking lifts conversions more than a brighter button ever will.
