Button design best practices
Buttons are small but mighty — they're where a visitor takes action. Well-designed buttons make the next step obvious and inviting; poorly-designed ones get missed or ignored.
What makes a good button
- It clearly looks clickable (a distinct, consistent style).
- It uses clear, specific text ('Get a quote', not 'Submit').
- Your primary action stands out from secondary ones.
- It's big enough to tap easily on mobile.
- It has enough colour contrast to be readable.
Guide the eye
Use one prominent primary button per section so there's no doubt what to do. Consistent, obvious buttons quietly lift how many visitors take the action you want.
