How to use testimonials and reviews on your website
People trust other people more than they trust your marketing. Real testimonials and reviews are among the most persuasive things on your site — when they're genuine and used well.
Gather them the right way
- Ask happy customers right after a good experience.
- Make it easy — a quick review link or a short question or two.
- Get permission to use names, photos, or details.
Use them where they count
Place testimonials near your calls to action and on key service pages — right where a visitor is deciding. Specific, believable quotes ('booked solid within a month') beat generic praise.
Never fake it
Invented reviews and stock 'customer' photos backfire the instant they're doubted, and fake review markup violates Google's rules. A few real testimonials beat a wall of fabricated ones every time.
