How to fix crawl errors in Google Search Console
Crawl errors are problems Google runs into when trying to access your pages — and pages it can't crawl can't rank. Google Search Console reports them, so fixing them is part of routine site health.
Common crawl issues
- Pages returning 404 (not found) that should exist.
- Server errors (5xx) blocking access.
- Pages accidentally blocked by robots or 'noindex'.
- Broken redirects and redirect chains.
How to fix them
Check the Pages report in Search Console, fix or redirect broken URLs, unblock anything wrongly excluded, and resolve server errors. Then use 'Validate fix' so Google re-checks. Regularly clearing crawl errors keeps your site fully indexable.
