How to write engaging blog introductions
Many readers decide whether to keep going within the first sentence or two. A strong introduction hooks them and promises the value ahead; a weak one loses them before they reach your best points.
How to write a good intro
- Get to the point fast — don't ramble to warm up.
- Acknowledge the reader's problem or question.
- Promise what they'll get from reading.
- Then deliver on that promise.
Skip the throat-clearing
Avoid long, generic openings ('In today's fast-paced world…'). Readers — and search engines — reward getting to the useful part quickly. Hook them, promise value, and pay it off.
