How to write blog headlines people actually click
Most people decide whether to read a post based on the headline alone. A great article with a weak headline goes unread; a clear, compelling one gets the click. And it doesn't require clickbait.
What makes headlines work
- Be clear about what the reader will get.
- Be specific ('7 ways', 'in 2026', a concrete benefit).
- Match the search — use the words people look for.
- Promise something worth their time — and deliver it.
Skip the clickbait
Misleading headlines get a click but lose trust the moment the content disappoints. The best headlines make an honest, specific promise the article keeps.
